2013-2016 | JARDIM BOTÂNICO THE BOTANICAL GARDEN
A série Jardim Botânico foi o despertar mais uma vez da artista para a pintura: ao retornar ao Brasil, incialmente a artista dedicou-se à arquitetura, estando distante das práticas da pintura. No entanto, ao se deparar com seu escritório ao lado do Jardim Botânico no Rio de Janeiro, encontrou cores, padrões e texturas diferentes das suas vivências anteriores. Afastou-se de padrões monocromáticos para aproximar-se da movimentação e dança criada pelas plantas do jardim. Retornava ali diariamente com seu caderno de desenho e, após um tempo, viu-se faltando no trabalho para passar o dia pintando.
Essa série inicia sua pesquisa pela botânica em junção a elementos arquitetônicos, entendendo as plantas a partir de suas cores, movimentos e emoções. As pinturas possuem harmonias estéticas que ao espectador desapercebido a sensação é apenas de conforto, mas ao fazer uma pausa para análise, percebe elementos que demonstram a inquietação da natureza. Os destaques de tons de verde, roxo e azul acompanham a poética da artista no decorrer do tempo, iniciando nessas pinturas as noções de padronagem que viriam a ser mais exploradas nas séries futuras.
The Botanical Garden series marked the artist's renewed awakening to painting: upon returning to Brazil, the artist initially dedicated herself to architecture, distancing herself from painting practices. However, when her office was located next to the Botanical Garden in Rio de Janeiro, she discovered colors, patterns, and textures different from her previous experiences. She moved away from monochromatic patterns to engage with the movement and dance created by the plants in the garden. She returned there daily with her sketchbook, and after some time, she found herself skipping work to spend the day painting.
This series begins her exploration of botany in conjunction with architectural elements, understanding the plants through their colors, movements, and emotions. The paintings have aesthetic harmonies that, to the unobservant viewer, evoke a sense of comfort, but upon pausing for analysis, one perceives elements that reveal the restlessness of nature. The highlights of green, purple, and blue tones follow the artist's poetic journey over time, introducing in these paintings the concepts of patterns that would later be further explored in future series.
